THE FIRST PROPER OPAQUE RELEASE. RECORDED LATE 98 RELEASED EARLY 99. WE BOOKED A DAY IN GLOBE STUDIOS IN LEEDS, MADE A RACKET FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS AND THEN SPENT A COUPLE OF HOURS MIXING AND SPLITTING INTO TRACKS. OF THE TRACKS THAT CAME OUT USEABLE WE USED THREE FOR THIS E.P.( 2 SHORT AND ONE LONG) AND ANOTHER ONE WAS USED ON A COMPILATION. I CLEARLY REMEMBER BEING VERY EXCITED AS I WENT TO MY CAR TO GO AND PICK UP THE DISKS. I ALSO REMEMBER HOW I FELT WHEN I REALISED THAT MY CAR HAD BEEN BROKEN INTO AND ALL OUR EQUIPMENT, WHICH WAS IN THE BOOT HAD BEEN STOLEN. I WENT TO THE POLICE STATION AND WAS GIVEN THE CRIME REPORT CODE, BA531/99. UP TO THIS POINT WE DIDN'T HAVE A NAME FOR THE CD. WE PACKAGED IT TO LOOK LIKE A CDR WHICH WAS SUPPOSED TO BE SOME KIND OF STATEMENT AT THE TIME, BUT MOST PEOPLE JUST THOUGHT IT WAS A CDR, SO IN RETROSPECT IT PROBABLY WASN'T THE SMARTEST IDEA. BA531/99 WAS WELL RECEIVED. THE RIGHT PEOPLE HATED IT AND THE RIGHT PEOPLE LIKED IT.
